Whether you are an absolute beginner or a drummer looking to take your playing to the next level, I'm here to help.
Anyone can learn an instrument. People learn in different ways, and this diversity demands an individually tailored approach. The correct type of training will allow the student to effectively understand and communicate the music the inspires them. Students will be instructed in music theory, ear training, mechanical technique, music history, improvisation, current musical trends, and general musicianship.
Excellent technique, timing, dynamics, and the ability to collaborate with other musicians are emphasized in my studio. With these abilities, the well-rounded drummer will be able to create, understand and appreciate all kinds of music at a deeper level. Students will gain an understanding of all standard drum rudiments as recognized by the Percussive Arts Society and the ability to play many different genres, from Rock to Pop, Country, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Latin, or Double Bass styles.
A music education not only inspires creativity and performance, but improves academic performance as well: A research study produced by the Harris Poll has shown that 9 out of 10 individuals with post-graduate degrees participated in music education. The National Report of SAT test takers study indicated students with music performance experience scored higher on the SAT than their less-musical peers
